# Twitter names ex-Google CFO Patrick Pichette as new board chairman.
Twitter has appointed former Google chief financial officer Patrick Pichette as the company’s new chairman of the board. Pichette takes over the role after joining Twitter’s board of directors in 2017. He previously served as Google’s CFO from 2008 until 2015.
Pichette is taking over the role from Omid Kordestani, another former Google executive. Kordestani has served as Twitter’s executive chairman since October 2015. Kordestani will remain on Twitter’s board, the company officials said.

ට්විටර් සමාගම සමාගමේ නව ප්‍රධාන සභාපති ලෙස හිටපු ගූගල් ප්‍රධාන මූල්‍ය නිලධාරි පැට්‍රික් පිචෙට් පත් කර තිබේ. 2017 දී ට්විටර් හි අධ්‍යක්ෂ මණ්ඩලයට සම්බන්ධ වීමෙන් පසු පිචෙට් එම භූමිකාව භාර ගනී. ඔහු මීට පෙර 2008 සිට 2015 දක්වා ගූගල් හි CFO ලෙස සේවය කළේය.
පිචෙට් මෙම භූමිකාව භාර ගන්නේ ගූගල් හි තවත් හිටපු විධායක නිලධාරියෙකු වන ඔමිඩ් කෝර්ඩෙස්ටානි ගෙනි. කෝර්ඩෙස්ටානි 2015 ඔක්තෝබර් මාසයේ සිට ට්විටර් හි විධායක සභාපති ලෙස සේවය කර ඇත. කෝර්ඩෙස්ටානි ට්විටර් මණ්ඩලයේ රැඳී සිටින බව සමාගමේ නිලධාරීන් පවසයි.
