# Twitter deletes Chinese ‘state-linked’ disinformation network.
Twitter said Friday 12 June 2020 it had deleted more than 170,000 accounts linked to a Chinese government disinformation campaign that targeted Hong Kong’s pro-democracy movement and sought to discredit the United States.
The revelation came as fellow American tech company, video messaging app Zoom, said it acceded to Beijing’s demands that it close accounts of US and Hong Kong activists who gathered on the popular chat app to mark the deadly Tiananmen crackdown.
Twitter -- along with YouTube, Google and Facebook -- is banned in China, which uses a “Great Firewall” to restrict access to news and information.

මෙම හෙළිදරව්ව සිදු වූයේ සෙසු ඇමරිකානු තාක්‍ෂණ සමාගමක් වන වීඩියෝ පණිවුඩකරණ යෙදුමක් වන සූම්, මාරාන්තික ටියානන්මන් මර්දනය සනිටුහන් කිරීම සඳහා ජනප්‍රිය චැට් යෙදුමට එක්රැස් වූ එක්සත් ජනපද සහ හොංකොං ක්‍රියාකාරීන්ගේ ගිණුම් වසා දමන ලෙස බීජිනයේ ඉල්ලීම්වලට එකඟ වූ බව පවසමිනි.
ට්විටර් - යූ ටියුබ්, ගූගල් සහ ෆේස්බුක් සමඟ චීනයේ තහනම් කර ඇති අතර එය ප්‍රවෘත්ති සහ තොරතුරු වලට ප්‍රවේශ වීම සීමා කිරීම සඳහා “මහා ෆයර්වෝලයක්” භාවිතා කරයි.
