The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Dumith Fernando as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the CSE with effect from 01st July 2020. Mr. Fernando has served on the Board of the CSE since 2017 and succeeds Mr. Ray Abeywardena, who steps down as the Chairman after completing his three-year tenure.

Mr. Fernando is Chairman of one of the leading investment banking firms, Asia Securities Holdings (Pvt) Ltd, engaged in Corporate Finance Advisory, Stockbroking, Research and Wealth Management - which he has led for the last six years. He also serves as an Independent Director of Union Assurance PLC and Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC and as a member of the Economic Policy Steering Committee of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.

With twenty-five years of experience in international and Sri Lankan capital markets, Mr. Fernando spent much of his career in global financial centers New York and Hong Kong with global banking giants JPMorgan Chase and Credit Suisse. There he held various roles across Equities, Investment Banking, Private Equity and Corporate Strategy. Until returning to Sri Lanka in 2013, Mr. Fernando was Managing Director and Group Chief Operating Officer for Credit Suisse Asia Pacific – a US$2.5 billion revenue business across 12 countries - and a member of that firm’s Global Leadership Council.

He holds a BA in Physics & Economics from Middlebury College in the U.S. and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

කොළඹ කොටස් හුවමාරුව (සීඑස්ඊ) 2020 ජුලි 01 දින සිට බලපැවැත්වෙන පරිදි කොළඹ ව්‍යාපාර වස්තු හුවමාරුවේ අධ්‍යක්ෂ මණ්ඩලයේ සභාපතිවරයා ලෙස ඩුමිත් ප්‍රනාන්දු මහතා පත් කිරීම සතුටට කරුණකි. ප්‍රනාන්දු මහතා 2017 සිට කොළඹ ව්‍යාපාර වස්තු හුවමාරුවේ අධ්‍යක්ෂ මණ්ඩලයේ සේවය කර ඇත. තෙවසරක ධුර කාලය සම්පූර්ණ කිරීමෙන් පසු සභාපති ධුරයෙන් ඉවත් වන රේ අබේවර්ධන මහතා මහතාගෙන් පසුව ඔහු පත්වේ.

ප්‍රනාන්දු මහතා ප්‍රමුඛ ආයෝජන බැංකු සමාගමක් වන ඒෂියා සෙකියුරිටීස් හෝල්ඩින්ග්ස් (පුද්) සමාගමේ ආයතනික මූල්‍ය උපදේශන, කොටස් තැරැව්කාර, පර්යේෂණ හා වෙල්ත් මැනේජ්මන්ට් හි සභාපතිවරයා වේ. ඔහු යුනියන් ඇෂුවරන්ස් පීඑල්සී හි ස්වාධීන අධ්‍යක්ෂවරයකු සහ සිංගර් (ශ්‍රී ලංකා) පීඑල්සී හි ස්වාධීන අධ්‍යක්ෂවරයෙකු ලෙස ද ලංකාවේ වාණිජ මණ්ඩලයේ ආර්ථික ප්‍රතිපත්ති මෙහෙයුම් කමිටුවේ සාමාජිකයෙකු ලෙස ද සේවය කරයි.

ජාත්‍යන්තර හා ශ්‍රී ලාංකික ප්‍රාග්ධන වෙළඳපොළවල වසර විසිපහක පළපුරුද්දක් ඇති ප්‍රනාන්දු මහතා සිය වෘත්තීය ජීවිතයේ වැඩි කාලයක් ගෝලීය බැංකු දැවැන්තයින් වන ජේපී මෝර්ගන් චේස් සහ ක්‍රෙඩිට් සූයිස් සමඟ ගෝලීය මූල්‍ය මධ්‍යස්ථාන වන නිව්යෝර්ක් සහ හොංකොං හි ගත කළේය. එහිදී ඔහු කොටස්, ආයෝජන බැංකුකරණය, පුද්ගලික කොටස් හා ආයතනික උපාය මාර්ග හරහා විවිධ කාර්යභාරයන් ඉටු කළේය. 2013 දී ශ්‍රී ලංකාවට නැවත පැමිණෙන තෙක් ප්‍රනාන්දු මහතා රටවල් 12 ක් පුරා ඇමරිකානු ඩොලර් බිලියන 2.5 ක ආදායම් ව්‍යාපාරයක් වන ක්‍රෙඩිට් සූයිස් ඒෂියා පැසිෆික් හි කළමනාකාර අධ්‍යක්ෂ සහ සමූහ ප්‍රධාන මෙහෙයුම් නිලධාරියා සහ එම සමාගමේ ගෝලීය නායකත්ව මණ්ඩලයේ සාමාජිකයෙකි.

ඔහු එක්සත් ජනපදයේ මිඩ්ල්බරි විද්‍යාලයෙන් භෞතික විද්‍යාව හා ආර්ථික විද්‍යාව පිළිබඳ ශාස්ත්‍රවේදී උපාධියක් ලබා ඇති අතර හාවඩ් ව්‍යාපාරික පාසලෙන් MBA උපාධියක් ලබා ඇත.
