# World Oceans Day - 08 June.
In 2008, the United Nations General Assembly decided that, as of 2009, 8 June would be designated by the United Nations as “World Oceans Day”. This day observed to remind everyone about the importance of oceans' role in our everyday life.
The United Nations day celebrates the role of the oceans in everyday life and inspires action to protect the ocean and sustainably use marine resources. This day holds great significance in various methods to save oceans for our future generation.
The theme of UN World Oceans Day 2020 is “Innovation for a Sustainable Ocean.”
# ලෝක සාගර දිනය - ජූනි 08.
2008 දී එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ මහා මණ්ඩලය තීරණය කළේ, 2009 වන විට ජුනි 8 එක්සත් ජාතීන් විසින් “ලෝක සාගර දිනය” ලෙස නම් කිරීමටයි. අපගේ එදිනෙදා ජීවිතයේ සාගරයේ කාර්යභාරයේ වැදගත්කම සැමට මතක් කිරීම සඳහා මෙම දිනය සැමරීය.
එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ දිනය එදිනෙදා ජීවිතයේ සාගරවල කාර්යභාරය සමරන අතර සාගරය ආරක්ෂා කිරීමට සහ සමුද්‍ර සම්පත් තිරසාරව භාවිතා කිරීමට පියවර ගනී. අපේ අනාගත පරම්පරාව සඳහා සාගර සුරැකීම සඳහා විවිධ ක්‍රමවේදයන්ගෙන් මෙම දිනය විශාල වැදගත්කමක් දරයි.
එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ ලෝක සාගර දිනය 2020 හි තේමාව වන්නේ “තිරසාර සාගරයක් සඳහා නව්‍යකරණය” යන්නයි.
