# India to host 2022 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women's Asian Cup.
The Asian Football Confederation has awarded the hosting rights of the 2022 Women's Asian Cup to India for the first time since 1979.
The decision was taken at the AFC Women's Football Committee meeting. In February, the AFC Women's Football Committee had recommended India to be hosts. The tournament will likely be held in the second half of the year.
The tournament will feature 12 teams, expanded from the previous slot of eight teams.India qualify directly as hosts. The event will also serve as the final qualification tournament for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.

මෙම තරඟාවලියට කණ්ඩායම් 12 ක් සහභාගී වන අතර එය පෙර පැවති කණ්ඩායම් අටෙන් පුළුල් විය. ඉන්දියාව කෙලින්ම සත්කාරක රටවල් ලෙස සුදුසුකම් ලබයි. මෙම තරඟාවලිය 2023 FIFA කාන්තා ලෝක කුසලානය සඳහා වන අවසන් සුදුසුකම් තරඟාවලිය ලෙස ද ක්‍රියා කරනු ඇත.
