# OPEC & its allies agreed to cut oil production by about 10%.
Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and allied nations have agreed to extend a production cut of nearly 10 million barrels of oil a day through the end of July 2020.
This measures aimed to cutting out the excess production depressing prices as global aviation remains largely grounded. It represents some 10 per cent of the world's overall supply.

ඛනිජ තෙල් අපනයන රටවල සංවිධානය (ඔපෙක්) සහ ඊට අනුබද්ධ රටවල් 2020 ජූලි මස අවසානය දක්වා දිනකට තෙල් බැරල් මිලියන 10 කට ආසන්න ප්‍රමාණයකින් නිෂ්පාදනය කපා හැරීමට එකඟ වී තිබේ.
ගෝලීය ගුවන් සේවා බොහෝ දුරට අක්‍රිය වී ඇති හෙයින් අතිරික්ත නිෂ්පාදන අවපාත මිල අඩු කිරීම මෙම පියවරේ අරමුණයි. එය ලෝකයේ සමස්ත සැපයුමෙන් සියයට 10 ක් පමණ නියෝජනය කරයි.
