International Olympic Day is celebrated across the world on June 23 every year to mark the importance of games and sports in our lives and to promote participation in games and sports across the world.
The International Olympic Day was first celebrated on June 23 in 1894 in nine countries -- Austria, Belgium, Canada, Great Britain, Greece, Portugal, Switzerland, Uruguay, and Venezuela. The National Olympic Committees of these nine countries had organised ceremonies and competitions, marking the importance of sports in our lives. Since then, International Olympic Day is celebrated on June 23 every year across the world.
# ජාත්‍යන්තර ඔලිම්පික් දිනය - ජූනි 23.
අපගේ ජීවිතයේ ක්‍රීඩා හා ක්‍රීඩා වල වැදගත්කම සනිටුහන් කිරීම සහ ලොව පුරා ක්‍රීඩා හා ක්‍රීඩා සඳහා සහභාගීත්වය ප්‍රවර්ධනය කිරීම සඳහා සෑම වසරකම ජුනි 23 වන දින ජාත්‍යන්තර ඔලිම්පික් දිනය සමරනු ලැබේ.
ජාත්‍යන්තර ඔලිම්පික් දිනය ප්‍රථම වරට 1894 ජුනි 23 වන දින ඔස්ට්‍රියාව, බෙල්ජියම, කැනඩාව, මහා බ්‍රිතාන්‍යය, ග්‍රීසිය, පෘතුගාලය, ස්විට්සර්ලන්තය, උරුගුවේ සහ වෙනිසියුලාව යන රටවල් නවයකදී සමරනු ලැබීය. මෙම රටවල් නවයේ ජාතික ඔලිම්පික් කමිටු විසින් අපගේ ජීවිතයේ ක්‍රීඩාවේ වැදගත්කම සනිටුහන් කරමින් උත්සව හා තරඟ සංවිධානය කර තිබුණි. එතැන් සිට සෑම වසරකම ජුනි 23 වන දින ලොව පුරා ජාත්‍යන්තර ඔලිම්පික් දිනය සමරනු ලැබේ.
