# World First Aid Day 2020 - 12 September.

The World First Aid Day is observed on the second Saturday of September every year to create awareness about the importance of first aid in preventing injuries and saving lives. The World First Aid Day 2020 is being observed on 12 September.

First aid is the first and immediate assistance given to anyone who suffers from either minor or serious illness or injury, with care provided to preserve life, prevent the condition from worsening, or to promote recovery. The purpose of first aid is to minimize injury and future disability.

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) has introduced World First Aid Day in 2000. First Aid help started over 160 years back. At the Battle of Solferino in north Italy. 

World First Aid Day 2020 Theme:  September 12, 2020, is World First Aid Day, an annual campaign to promote the importance of first aid training in preventing injuries and saving lives.

තුවාල වැළැක්වීම සහ ජීවිත බේරා ගැනීම සඳහා ප්‍රථමාධාර ලබා දීමේ වැදගත්කම පිළිබඳව දැනුවත් කිරීම සඳහා සෑම වසරකම සැප්තැම්බර් දෙවන සෙනසුරාදා ලෝක ප්‍රථමාධාර දිනය සමරනු ලැබේ. 2020 ලෝක ප්‍රථමාධාර දිනය සැප්තැම්බර් 12 දිනට යෙදී තිබේ.

ප්‍රථමාධාර යනු සුළු හෝ බරපතළ රෝගාබාධවලින් හෝ තුවාලයකින් පෙළෙන ඕනෑම කෙනෙකුට, ජීවිතය ආරක්ෂා කර ගැනීමට, තත්වය නරක අතට හැරීම වැළැක්වීමට හෝ සුවය ලබා ගැනීම සඳහා ලබා දෙන පළමු හා ක්ෂණික ආධාරයයි. ප්‍රථමාධාරයේ අරමුණ වන්නේ තුවාල හා අනාගත ආබාධ අවම කිරීමයි.

ජාත්‍යන්තර රතු කුරුස හා රතු ක්‍රෙසන්ට් සංගම් සම්මේලනය (IFRC) 2000 දී ලෝක ප්‍රථමාධාර දිනය හඳුන්වා දී තිබේ. උතුරු ඉතාලියේ සොල්ෆෙරිනෝ සටනේදී ප්‍රථමාධාර ආධාර වසර 160 කට පෙර ආරම්භ විය.
