# World Tourism Day - 27 September.
United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) was established on 2 January 1975 on the entry into force of statutes adopted on 27 September 1970 in Mexico City. World Tourism Day (WTD) has been commemorated on 27 September each year since 1980. The date marks the anniversary of the adoption of the UNWTO Statutes in 1970.
Under the guidance of the Ministry of Tourism, Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority and the Department of Trade Commerce and Tourism of Central Provincial Council have organized a three-day special programme and several other events to celebrate the World Tourism Day 2020 in Kandy.
The official ceremony will commence at 9.00 a.m. on the 27th of September at the Kandy City Center, under the patronage of Hon. Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksha and Hon. Minister of Tourism Prasanna Ranathunga with the presence of other officials from Sri Lanka Tourism.

# ලෝක සංචාරක දිනය - සැප්තැම්බර් 27.
එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ ලෝක සංචාරක සංවිධානය (UNWTO) 1975 ජනවාරි 2 වන දින මෙක්සිකෝ නගරයේ දී සම්මත කරන ලද ප්‍රඥප්ති බලාත්මක කිරීම මත පිහිටුවන ලදී. 1980 සිට සෑම වසරකම සැප්තැම්බර් 27 වන දින ලෝක සංචාරක දිනය (WTD) සමරනු ලැබේ. මෙම දිනය 1970 දී UNWTO ප්‍රඥප්ති සම්මත කිරීමේ සංවත්සරය සනිටුහන් කරයි.
සංචාරක අමාත්‍යාංශයේ මඟ පෙන්වීම යටතේ ශ්‍රී ලංකා සංචාරක සංවර්ධන අධිකාරිය සහ මධ්‍යම පළාත් සභාවේ වෙළඳ හා සංචාරක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව විසින් 2020 ලෝක සංචාරක දිනය සැමරීම සඳහා දින තුනක විශේෂ වැඩසටහනක් සහ තවත් උත්සව කිහිපයක් මහනුවරදී සංවිධානය කර තිබේ.
නිල උත්සවය සැප්තැම්බර් මස 27 වන දින පෙ.ව. 9.00 ට මහනුවර නගර මධ්‍යස්ථානයේ දී ගරු. අගමැති මහින්ද රාජපක්ෂ සහ ගරු. සංචාරක අමාත්‍ය ප්‍රසන්න රණතුංග මහතා ශ්‍රී ලංකා සංචාරක අංශයේ අනෙකුත් නිලධාරීන් ද සහභාගී විය.
