# International Day for Universal Access to Information - 28 September.
Each year on September 28th, the International Day for Universal Access to Information is observed. This day promotes the idea that every individual around the world has a right to seek and receive information.
On November 17, 2015, UNESCO adopted a resolution to declare September 28th as International Day for Universal Access to Information. The first official observation was held in 2016. In declaring this day, UNESCO hopes that countries around the world would adopt Freedom of Information (FOI) policies.

# විශ්වීය තොරතුරු සඳහා ජාත්‍යන්තර දිනය - සැප්තැම්බර් 28.
සෑම වසරකම සැප්තැම්බර් 28 වන දින විශ්වීය තොරතුරු සඳහා වන ජාත්‍යන්තර දිනය සමරනු ලැබේ. ලොව පුරා සිටින සෑම පුද්ගලයෙකුටම තොරතුරු සෙවීමට සහ ලැබීමට අයිතියක් ඇත යන අදහස මෙම දිනය ප්‍රවර්ධනය කරයි.
2015 නොවැම්බර් 17 වන දින යුනෙස්කෝව විසින් තොරතුරු සඳහා විශ්ව ප්‍රවේශය සඳහා වූ ජාත්‍යන්තර දිනය ලෙස සැප්තැම්බර් 28 ප්‍රකාශයට පත් කිරීමේ යෝජනාවක් සම්මත කරන ලදී. පළමු නිල නිරීක්‍ෂණය 2016 දී පවත්වන ලදී. මෙම දිනය ප්‍රකාශයට පත් කරමින් යුනෙස්කෝව බලාපොරොත්තු වන්නේ ලොව පුරා රටවල් තොරතුරු දැන ගැනීමේ නිදහස (FOI) ප්‍රතිපත්ති අනුගමනය කරනු ඇති බවයි.
2020 තේමාවන්: “තොරතුරු සඳහා ප්‍රවේශය - ජීවිත බේරා ගැනීම, විශ්වාසය ගොඩනැගීම, බලාපොරොත්තුව ගෙන ඒම!”
