# World Rose Day is observed - 22 September.
The World Rose Day is observed on September 22 every year to bring happiness and joy to the lives of cancer patients. This day is also marked to spread awareness about cancer amongst the people and tell them how they can detect the many types of cancers.
On this day, hand-made roses, cards, and gifts are also offered to the patients suffering from cancer. Special workshops, events are organized to bring joy and strength to cancer patients.
This day is observed in the memory of Melinda Rose from Canada who was diagnosed with Askin’s Tumour which is a rare form of blood cancer when she was just 12.
During her fight against the disease, she wrote verses, little notes, and e-mails to cancer patients giving hope, she wrote emails, notes to cancer patients to spread cheer and joy.

පිළිකා රෝගීන්ගේ ජීවිතවලට සතුට හා ප්‍රීතිය ගෙන ඒම සඳහා සෑම වසරකම සැප්තැම්බර් 22 වන දින ලෝක රෝස දිනය සමරනු ලැබේ. ජනතාව අතර පිළිකා පිළිබඳව දැනුවත් කිරීම සහ විවිධ වර්ගයේ පිළිකා හඳුනාගත හැකි ආකාරය ඔවුන්ට පැවසීම සඳහා මෙම දිනය සලකුණු කර ඇත.
මෙම දිනයේදී පිළිකා රෝගයෙන් පෙළෙන රෝගීන්ට අතින් සාදන ලද රෝස මල්, කාඩ්පත් සහ තෑගි ද පිරිනමනු ලැබේ. පිළිකා රෝගීන්ට ප්‍රීතිය හා ශක්තිය ලබා දීම සඳහා විශේෂ වැඩමුළු, උත්සව සංවිධානය කරනු ලැබේ.
කැනඩාවේ මෙලින්ඩා රෝස්ගේ මතකයේ මෙම දිනය සැමරෙන්නේ ඇය වයස අවුරුදු 12 දී දුර්ලභ රුධිර පිළිකාවක් වන ඇස්කින්ගේ ගෙඩියක් ලෙස හඳුනාගත් බැවිනි.
රෝගයට එරෙහි සටනේදී ඇය බලාපොරොත්තුවක් ලබා දෙමින් පිළිකා රෝගීන්ට පද, කුඩා සටහන් සහ ඊමේල් ලියා, පිළිකා රෝගීන්ට ප්‍රීතිඝෝෂා හා ප්‍රීතිය පතුරුවා හැරීම සඳහා ඊමේල්, සටහන් ලියා තිබේ.
