# Nepal's prominent Mountaineer Ang Rita Sherpa died at age 72.
Nepalese Ang Rita Sherpa, the first man to climb Mount Everest 10 times, died of a lengthy illness on Monday 21 September 2020. This was an event that called a major loss to Nepal and the climbing community.
He made all the ascents to the world’s tallest mountain between 1983 and 1996 without bottled oxygen. He was therefore also known as the “snow leopard” for his climbing skills.
The mountaineering legend was awarded a prestigious Guinness World Record certificate for making the most number of successful ascents on the 8,848-meter Mt Everest without using supplemental oxygen. The Guinness World Record has also recognised him as the first man to climb Everest in winter without supplementary oxygen in December 1987.

එවරස්ට් කන්ද තරණය කළ පළමු මිනිසා වන නේපාල ජාතික ඇන්ග් රීටා ෂර්පා 2020 සැප්තැම්බර් 21 වන සඳුදා දීර්ඝ අසනීපයකින් මිය ගියේය. මෙය නේපාලයට සහ කඳු නගින්නන්ට විශාල පාඩුවක් විය.
ඔහු 1983 සිට 1996 දක්වා කාලය තුළ බෝතල් ඔක්සිජන් නොමැතිව ලෝකයේ උසම කන්දට නැග්ගේය. එබැවින් ඔහුගේ කඳු නැගීමේ කුසලතාවන් නිසා ඔහු “හිම දිවියා” ලෙසද හැඳින්විණි.
කඳු නැගීමේ පුරාවෘත්තයට අතිරේක ඔක්සිජන් භාවිතා නොකර මීටර් 8,848 ක එවරස්ට් කන්ද තරණය කිරීම සඳහා වඩාත්ම සාර්ථක කඳු තරණය කිරීම සඳහා ගෞරවනීය ගිනස් ලෝක වාර්තාවක් පිරිනමන ලදී. 1987 දෙසැම්බරයේ අතිරේක ඔක්සිජන් නොමැතිව ශීත ඍතුවේ දී එවරස්ට් තරණය කළ පළමු මිනිසා ලෙස ද ගිනස් ලෝක වාර්තාව පිළිගෙන තිබේ.
