Sri Lanka ranked high, out-performing South Asian neighbours in its Air Quality measurement according to the Environmental Performance Index 2020 (EPI) released by researchers at Yale and Columbia universities recently.
The prestigious index, now in its 22nd year, has become the premier metrics framework for global environmental policy analysis, ranking 180 countries on several performance indicators. Based on peer comparisons, overall Sri Lanka is ranked 109th in with an EPI score of 39 out of 100, ahead when compared with its South Asian counterparts.

යේල් සහ කොලොම්බියා විශ්ව විද්‍යාල වල පර්යේෂකයන් විසින් මෑතකදී නිකුත් කරන ලද පාරිසරික කාර්ය සාධන දර්ශකය 2020 (EPI) අනුව ශ්‍රී ලංකාව සිය වායු ගුණාත්මකභාවය මැනීමේ දී දකුණු ආසියාවේ ඉහළ කාර්යසාධනයක් පෙන්නුම් කරයි.
කීර්තිමත් දර්ශකය, දැන් එහි 22 වන වසර තුළ, ගෝලීය පාරිසරික ප්‍රතිපත්ති විශ්ලේෂණය සඳහා ප්‍රමුඛතම මිනුම් රාමුවක් බවට පත්ව ඇති අතර, රටවල් 180 ක් කාර්ය සාධන දර්ශක කිහිපයකින් ශ්‍රේණිගත කර ඇත. සම වයස් සැසඳීම් මත පදනම්ව, සමස්ත ශ්‍රී ලංකාව දකුණු ආසියානු සගයන් හා සසඳන විට 100 න් 39 ක්ම EPI ලකුණු ලබා ගනිමින් 109 වන ස්ථානයට පත්ව ඇත.
