# Sri Lanka Freedom Party celebrates its 69th Anniversary today 02 September 2020.

General Secretary of the SLFP – State Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara said the 69th anniversary of the party will be celebrated by giving priority to religious observances.

“The celebrations will be conducted under the patronage of the party leader – Maithripala Sirisena,” State Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara said.

The SLFP was formed in 1951 by S.W.R.D.Bandaranaike who was a Minister of the then government led by the United National Party.

Sri Lanka Freedom Party and its coalition which contested at the election after 5 years since its formation secured power in 1956 with S.W.R.D.Bandaranaike being elected as the fourth Prime Minister of Sri Lanka.

Leaders of SLFP that held power on several occasions, made significant contributions to the development process and sovereignty of the country.

# ශ්‍රී ලංකා නිදහස් පක්ෂය සිය 69 වන සංවත්සරය 2020 සැප්තැම්බර් 02 දිනට සමරයි.

ශ්‍රී ලංකා නිදහස් පක්ෂයේ මහ ලේකම් - රාජ්‍ය අමාත්‍ය දයාසිරි ජයසේකර මහතා පැවසුවේ ආගමික උත්සවවලට ප්‍රමුඛත්වය දෙමින් පක්ෂයේ 69 වන සංවත්සරය සමරනු ඇති බවයි.

“මෙම සැමරුම් පැවැත්වෙන්නේ පක්ෂ නායක මෛත්‍රීපාල සිරිසේනගේ අනුග්‍රහය යටතේ” යැයි රාජ්‍ය අමාත්‍ය දයාසිරි ජයසේකර මහතා පැවසීය.

ශ්‍රී ලංකා නිදහස් පක්ෂය 1951 දී එක්සත් ජාතික පක්ෂයේ නායකත්වයෙන් යුත් එවකට රජයේ අමාත්‍යවරයකු වූ එස්.ඩබ්ලිව්.ආර්. බණ්ඩාරනායක විසින් පිහිටුවන ලදී.

ශ්‍රී ලංකා නිදහස් පක්ෂය පිහිටුවා වසර 5 කට පසු 1956 දී මැතිවරණයට තරඟ වැදුණු අතර එහිදී එස්.ඩබ්ලිව්.ආර්.ඩී. බණ්ඩාරනායක මහතා ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ සිව්වන අගමැති ලෙස තේරී පත් විය.

අවස්ථා කිහිපයකදීම බලය දැරූ ශ්‍රී ලංකා නිදහස් පක්ෂයේ නායකයින් රටේ සංවර්ධන ක්‍රියාවලියට සහ ස්වෛරීභාවයට සැලකිය යුතු දායකත්වයක් ලබා දුන්හ.
