# Mauritius declares a “state of environmental emergency”.
A “state of environmental emergency” has been declared by the island nation of Mauritius. The environmental emergency has been declared as a Japanese bulk carrier “MV Wakashio” ran aground on a reef in Mauritius and began leaking oil into the ocean. The ship stranded two weeks ago is leaking tons of fuel into the surrounding waters.

මොරිෂස් දූපත විසින් “පාරිසරික හදිසි තත්වයක්” ප්‍රකාශයට පත් කර තිබේ. ජපානයේ තොග ප්‍රවාහන නව්කාවක් වන “එම්වී වකාෂියෝ” මොරිෂස්හි ගල්පරයක් මත හැපී සාගරයට තෙල් කාන්දු වීම ආරම්භ කළ බැවින් පාරිසරික හදිසි අවස්ථාව ප්‍රකාශයට පත් කර ඇත. සති දෙකකට පෙර මෙලෙස අනතුරට පත්වූ නෞකාව අවට ජලයට ඉන්ධන ටොන් ගණනක් කාන්දු වෙමින් පවතී.
