# World Coconut Day - 02 September.
September 2 is observed as World Coconut Day. The main objective of celebrating this day is to create awareness across the globe about the importance of the coconut and its benefits. The day is especially marked in countries under Asian and Pacific regions by the Asian and Pacific Coconut Community (APCC) as they house most of the world’s coconut growing production centres.
The first celebration of world coconut day ever was in the year 2009. The occasion is to commemorate the foundation day of APCC, which operates under the flagship authority of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN-ESCAP). The establishment of the founding of the intergovernmental entity of ICC or International Coconut community served as the launch of the event. World Coconut Day is observed to create global awareness about coconut usage and its myriad benefits. It is to highlight the policies and express the plan of action.
The theme of World Coconut Day 2020 this year is – “Invest in Coconut to save the world”.
# ලෝක පොල් දිනය - සැප්තැම්බර් 02.
සැප්තැම්බර් 2 ලෝක පොල් දිනය ලෙස සමරනු ලැබේ. මෙම දිනය සැමරීමේ ප්‍රධාන පරමාර්ථය වන්නේ පොල් වල වැදගත්කම සහ එහි ප්‍රතිලාභ පිළිබඳව ලොව පුරා දැනුවත් කිරීමයි. ලෝකයේ පොල් වගා කරන නිෂ්පාදන මධ්‍යස්ථාන බොහොමයක් ඇති බැවින් ආසියානු සහ පැසිෆික් පොල් ප්‍රජාව (APCC) විසින් ආසියානු සහ පැසිෆික් කලාප යටතේ රටවල් වල දිනය විශේෂයෙන් සලකුණු කර ඇත.
ලෝක පොල් දිනය සැමරීමේ පළමු උත්සවය 2009 දී සිදු විය. මෙම අවස්ථාව එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ ආසියා සහ පැසිෆික් ආර්ථික හා සමාජ කොමිසමේ (UN-ESCAP) ප්‍රධාන අධිකාරිය යටතේ ක්‍රියාත්මක වන APCC හි ආරම්භක දිනය සමරනු ලැබේ. අයිසීසී හෝ ජාත්‍යන්තර පොල් ප්‍රජාවේ අන්තර් රාජ්‍ය ආයතනය පිහිටුවීම මෙම උත්සවය දියත් කිරීම සඳහා දායක විය. පොල් භාවිතය සහ එහි ඇති අසීමිත ප්‍රතිලාභ පිළිබඳව ගෝලීය දැනුවත් කිරීමක් ඇති කිරීම සඳහා ලෝක පොල් දිනය සමරනු ලැබේ. එය ප්‍රතිපත්ති ඉස්මතු කර ක්‍රියාකාරී සැලැස්ම ප්‍රකාශ කිරීමයි.
මේ වසරේ 2020 ලෝක පොල් දිනයේ තේමාව වන්නේ “ලෝකය බේරා ගැනීම සඳහා පොල් සඳහා ආයෝජනය කරන්න” යන්නයි.
