# International Day of Charity - 05 September.
At the initiative of Hungary, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution by consensus to designate 5 September, the anniversary of the passing away of Mother Teresa, as the International Day of Charity. The designation of the International Day of Charity will create a universal platform to enhance visibility, organize special events, create synergies and thereby further increase public support for charity.
Mother Teresa
The Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, M.C., commonly known as Mother Teresa (26 August 1910 – 5 September 1997), was an Albanian born, Indian Roman Catholic Religious Sister.
Mother Teresa founded the Missionaries of Charity, a Roman Catholic religious congregation, which in 2012 consisted of over 4,500 sisters and is active in 133 countries. They run hospices and homes for people with HIV/AIDS, leprosy and tuberculosis; soup kitchens; children's and family counseling programmes; orphanages; and schools. Members of the order must adhere to the vows of chastity, poverty and obedience, and the fourth vow, to give 'Wholehearted and Free service to the poorest of the poor'.
Mother Teresa was the recipient of numerous honours including the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize.

හංගේරියාවේ මූලිකත්වයෙන් එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ මහා මණ්ඩලය තෙරේසා මව්තුමාගේ අභාවප්‍රාප්ත සංවත්සරය වන සැප්තැම්බර් 5 වන දින ජාත්‍යන්තර පුණ්‍ය දිනය ලෙස නම් කිරීම සඳහා සම්මුතියෙන් යෝජනාවක් සම්මත කරන ලදී. අන්තර්ජාතික පුණ්‍ය දිනය නම් කිරීම මඟින් දෘශ්‍යතාව ඉහළ නැංවීම, විශේෂ සිදුවීම් සංවිධානය කිරීම, සහජීවනය ඇති කිරීම සහ එමඟින් පුණ්‍ය කටයුතු සඳහා මහජන සහයෝගය තවදුරටත් ඉහළ නැංවීම සඳහා විශ්වීය වේදිකාවක් නිර්මාණය වනු ඇත.
තෙරේසා මව්තුමිය
කල්කටාවේ භාග්‍යවන්ත තෙරේසා, මදර් තෙරේසා (19 අගෝස්තු 26 - 1997 සැප්තැම්බර් 5) ලෙස පොදුවේ හැඳින්වෙන එම්.සී., ඇල්බේනියානු ජාතික ඉන්දියානු රෝමානු කතෝලික ආගමික සහෝදරියකි.
රෝමානු කතෝලික ආගමික සභාවක් වන මිෂනාරිස් ඔෆ් චරිටි මදර් තෙරේසා 2012 දී ආරම්භ කරන ලද අතර එය 2012 දී සහෝදරියන් 4500 කට අධික සංඛ්‍යාවක් සිටි අතර රටවල් 133 ක ක්‍රියාකාරී වේ. එච්.අයි.වී / ඒඩ්ස්, ලාදුරු හා ක්ෂය රෝගය ඇති පුද්ගලයින් සඳහා ඔවුන් ආගන්තුක සත්කාර සහ නිවාස පවත්වාගෙන යයි. සුප් මුළුතැන්ගෙයි; ළමා හා පවුල් උපදේශන වැඩසටහන්; අනාථ නිවාස; සහ පාසල්. නියෝගයේ සාමාජිකයන් නිර්මලකම, දරිද්‍රතාවය සහ කීකරුකම සහ සිව්වන භාරය පිළිපැදිය යුතුය.
1979 සාම නොබෙල් ත්‍යාගය ඇතුළු ගෞරව සම්මාන රාශියක් තෙරේසා මදර්ට හිමි විය.
