# World Sports Journalists Day - 02 July.

World Sports Journalists Day is celebrated on July 2, to mark the services of sports journalists for the promotion of sports. This day has been earmarked as the official day of celebration because of its significance as the date when the International Sports Press Association was established at the 1924 Paris Olympics. The day was established in 1994 to mark the 70th anniversary of the International Sports Press Association (AIPS). This year 2020 marks the 96th anniversary of AIPS.

ක්‍රීඩා ප්‍රවර්ධනය සඳහා ක්‍රීඩා මාධ්‍යවේදීන්ගේ සේවය සනිටුහන් කරමින් ලෝක ක්‍රීඩා මාධ්‍යවේදීන්ගේ දිනය ජූලි 2 වන දින සමරනු ලැබේ. 1924 පැරිස් ඔලිම්පික් උළෙලේ දී ජාත්‍යන්තර ක්‍රීඩා පුවත්පත් සංගමය පිහිටුවන ලද දිනය ලෙස එහි වැදගත්කම නිසා මෙම දිනය නිල සැමරුම් දිනය ලෙස වෙන් කර ඇත.ජාත්‍යන්තර ක්‍රීඩා පුවත්පත් සංගමයේ (ඒඅයිපීඑස්) 70 වන සංවත්සරය නිමිත්තෙන් 1994 දී මෙම දිනය ආරම්භ කරන ලදී. මෙම වසර 2020 AIPS හි 96 වන සංවත්සරය සනිටුහන් කරයි.
