# Greta Thunberg named winner of Gulbenkian Prize for Humanity.
The 17 year old climate activist from Sweden, Greta Thunberg has been named winner of the inaugural Gulbenkian Prize for Humanity. She will receive a prize money of 1 million euro. She has been awarded for her efforts to mobilise younger generations to tackle climate change. She commenced a protest outside the Swedish parliament in 2018 and risen to global prominence, becoming the figurehead for a series of school strikes by children around the world.
The Gulbenkian Prize for Humanity recognises the contributions of people, groups of people and/or organisations from all over the world in order to mitigate and adapt to climate change stand out for its novelty, innovation and impact.

ස්වීඩනයේ 17 හැවිරිදි දේශගුණික ක්‍රියාකාරිනියක වන ග්‍රෙටා තුන්බර්ග් මානව වර්ගයා සඳහා ආරම්භක ගුල්බෙන්කියන් ත්‍යාගයේ ජයග්‍රාහකයා ලෙස නම් කර තිබේ. ඇයට යුරෝ මිලියනයක ත්‍යාග මුදලක් ලැබෙනු ඇත. දේශගුණික විපර්යාසයන්ට මුහුණ දීම සඳහා තරුණ පරම්පරාව බලමුලු ගැන්වීමට ඇය දැරූ උත්සාහය වෙනුවෙන් ඇයට සම්මානයක් හිමි වී තිබේ. ඇය 2018 දී ස්වීඩන් පාර්ලිමේන්තුවෙන් පිටත උද්ඝෝෂණයක් ආරම්භ කළ අතර ගෝලීය ප්‍රසිද්ධියට පත්විය. ලොව පුරා ළමයින් විසින් පාසල් වැඩ වර්ජන මාලාවක ප්‍රමුඛයා බවට පත්විය.
මානව වර්ගයා සඳහා වූ ගුල්බෙන්කියන් ත්‍යාගය, දේශගුණික විපර්යාසයන් අවම කිරීම හා ඒවාට අනුගත වීම සඳහා ලොව පුරා සිටින පුද්ගලයින්, පුද්ගලයින් කණ්ඩායම් සහ / හෝ සංවිධානවල දායකත්වය පිළිගනී.
