# West Indies cricket’s ‘founding father’ Everton Weekes dies at aged 95.
West Indies former cricketer, Everton Weekes passed away. He was born in Pickwick Gap, Barbados on February 26, 1925. Everton Weekes made his first-class debut at 19-year-old and his Test debut in 1948 at 22. His test career spanned between 1948 to 1958, where he played 48 Tests & scored 4455 runs at an average of 58.62. He retired in 1958, after which he had served as a coach, administrator, and ICC match referee.

බටහිර ඉන්දීය කොදෙව් හිටපු ක්‍රිකට් ක්‍රීඩක එවර්ටන් වීක්ස් අභාවප්‍රාප්ත විය. ඔහු 1925 පෙබරවාරි 26 වන දින බාබඩෝස් හි පික්වික් ගැප් හි උපත ලැබීය. එවර්ටන් වීක්ස් 19 හැවිරිදි වියේ දී ඔහුගේ පළමු පන්තියේ ආරම්භයත්, 1948 දී ඔහුගේ ටෙස්ට් මංගල්‍යය 22 දීත් ආරම්භ විය. ඔහුගේ ටෙස්ට් දිවිය 1948 සිට 1958 දක්වා කාලය තුළ ව්‍යාප්ත විය. 58.62 ක සාමාන්‍යයකින් ටෙස්ට් සහ ලකුණු 4455 ක් රැස් කළේය. ඔහු 1958 දී විශ්‍රාම ගත් අතර පසුව ඔහු පුහුණුකරු, පරිපාලක සහ අයිසීසී තරග තීරක ලෙස සේවය කර ඇත.
