Sri Lanka’s Ayomal Akalanka has won the Bronze Medal in the 400m Hurdles Boys event at the Asian Youth Under 18 Athletics Championship 2023.
Akalanka, a student of Ambagamuwa National College, won the bronze with a time of 51.40 seconds.
Meanwhile, Nilupul Pehesara won the Silver medal in the High Jump event, clearing 2.01m mark while Kasuni Nirmalee Wickramasinghe bagged the Bronze medal in the 800m event yesterday (April 29).
Earlier this week, junior athlete Thushen Silva bagged a Silver medal, clearing 4.70m in Pole Vault to claim second place in the event.
A seven-member squad of junior athletes from Sri Lanka are in Tashkent, Uzbekistan taking part in the championships, being held from April 27 to 30.
