Shehroze Kashif becomes the world’s youngest mountaineer to scale the K2 summit.

A young mountaineer who last week scaled the second-highest mountain on earth, says he felt a “sense of achievement” as he stood atop the K2 summit and hoisted the Pakistani flag.

Shehroze Kashif, 19, who hails from the eastern city of Lahore in Pakistan, climbed K2 summit at 8,611 meters (28,251 feet) last week, becoming the world’s youngest mountaineer to scale the K2 summit.

Located in the Karakoram Range in northern Pakistan near the country’s border with China, K2, nicknamed the “savage mountain”, is considered by many to be the most dangerous mountain in the world for climbers.

Before Shehroze Kashif, Sajid Sadpara, the son of the legendary climber Muhammad Ali Sadpara, was the youngest person to have climbed K2 at the age of 20.
