After taking control of Afghanistan, Taliban fighters stormed into the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) headquarters in Kabul last week. According to reports, members of the Taliban regime took over the ACB headquarters and were accompanied by former national cricketer Abdullah Mazari.
The Taliban have said they will not interfere with the Afghan men’s national cricket team, the country’s biggest sporting success of recent years, or stop the expansion of the flagship Twenty20 league, an Afghan cricket official said.
