FSU football head coach Bobby Bowden passed away.

Bobby Bowden, who built Florida State football into a national powerhouse and directed the program with a folksy, southern charm, died early Sunday 08 August 2021 morning. He was at age 91.

On July 23, Terry Bowden, son of the Hall of Fame coach revealed his father was suffering from pancreatic cancer. This came a day after his family released a statement through the Democrat indicating he had been diagnosed with a terminal medical condition.

Bowden was surrounded by his family, wife Ann and their six children, when he passed away peacefully at 5:08 a.m. at his Killearn Estates home, daughter Ginger Bowden told the Democrat Sunday morning.

FSU football head coach Bobby Bowden coached thousands of players and coached against numerous coaches in his 44 years as a head coach.

Coach Bowden coached at Howard, West Virginia, and Florida State, amassing a career record of 389-129-4(I’m giving him his 12 vacated wins).

He had a bowl record of 22-10-1 and won 12 ACC Conference Championships, two national titles, and several coaches of the year awards.

It’s only fitting those players and coaches would use this time to acknowledge his impact on their lives.
