Prepared by the Commonwealth Secretariat Youth Division the Global Youth Development Index (YDI) is an aggregate of indicators that measure progress on youth development. The rankings and domain scores for 181 countries in the 2020 Global Youth Development Index (YDI), including 48 of the 54 Commonwealth countries. The global results are provided in formats that allow for identification of countries by level of youth development as Very High, High, Medium and Low.
The 2020 index is calculated using six main domains: Health & Wellbeing, Education, Employment &
Opportunity, Equality & Inclusion, Political & Civic
Participation & Peace & Security.
Overall, the index shows advances in youth’s participation in peace processes and their education, employment, inclusion and health care since 2010.
