Boris Johnson likely to be Republic Day chief guest.
United Kingdom Prime Minister, Boris Johnson is expected to be the chief guest at 2021 Republic day with Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally inviting him during a telephonic conversation on November 27 2020.
Johnson, on his part, has invited PM Modi to the G-7 summit in the United Kingdom next year.The move by the PM to invite his UK counterpart is strategically important for ties between the two nations. The last British prime minister at the Republic Day parade was John Major in 1993.
