According to the daily exchange report of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL), the current buying rate of the US Dollar today (31) stands at Rs. 184.12 and selling rate of the US dollar stands at Rs.189.18
This is the lowest buying and selling rate recorded for a US dollar since, December 16, 2019.
The rupee has been under pressure over the last week. On 24 December 2020, the buying rate of the US Dollar was at Rs. 189.08 and selling rate of the US dollar was at Rs.194.66 and the Central Bank issuing a statement stated that it will take appropriate action aggressively to contain this volatility in the domestic foreign exchange market.
