Nana Akufo-Addo has re elected as the President of Ghana.

Ghana's incumbent President Nana Akufo-Addo has been declared the winner of the country's 2020 presidential election. His New Patriotic Party (NPP) secured 6,730,413 or 51.6% votes.

The 76-year-old is a veteran politician with one presidential term and four presidential bids behind him.

He comes from an esteemed political family. His father Edward Akufo-Addo engaged in the fight for Ghana's independence in 1957 and is regarded as one of the country's founding fathers.

Raised in Ghana's capital Accra, the younger Akufo-Addo went to school in the United Kingdom. He studied economics in Ghana before returning to the UK to study law.

Nana Akufo-Addo has been a figure in Ghanaian political life since the 1970s.
