CSE market cap gets Rs. 155bn boost.
Colombo Stock Exchange market capitalization rose by Rs. 155 billion last week. At the beginning of the week, the market capitalization was Rs.2, 494.26 billion. This had risen to 2,649.30 billion at the end of the week's trading on 6 November 2020, reflecting a 155.04 billion or 6.21% increase from 2 November 2020 to 6 November 2020.
During the past week, the All Share Price Index (ASPI) has risen from 5,726.59 to 6,080.09 by 353.50 points or 6.19%. The top 10 securities that contributed to the change of ASPI for the week, as follows.
Meanwhile, this week, Rs.16.77 billion worth of shares were traded. However, yet foreign investors' contribution to the market remains low. Total foreign purchases amounted to Rs. 308.76 million last week and this accounted for 1.84% of the turnover.
