US Navy destroyer shot down ballistic missile for the first time.
The US Navy destroyer USS John Finn intercepted a mock intercontinental ballistic missile the Missile Defense Agency announced.
In the first-of-its-kind test, the Navy warship fired an SM-3 Block IIA, a weapon originally designed to eliminate midrange missiles, at the mock ICBM.
