The 26th Conference of Parties (COP26) under the United Nations Climate Change Framework Convention (UNFCCC) is going to be held (from Oct 31 – Nov 12) in Glasgow, United Kingdom (UK).
At COP 26, India along with the UK, Australia, and SIDS ( small island developing states) are launching IRIS ( Infrastructure for resilient island states).
COP26 will be a critical summit for global climate action. A chance for members to work to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees, by reducing global emissions (by half) by 2030 and reaching ‘net-zero’ by 2050.
