World Standards Day - 14 October.

Each year on 14 October, the members of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Telecommunication Union (ITU) celebrate World Standards Day, which is a means of paying tribute to the collaborative efforts of thousands of experts worldwide who develop the voluntary technical agreements that are published as International Standards.

World Standards Day 2021 is about our shared vision for a better world . Learn more about the theme in this message from IEC, ISO and ITU.

International standards provide a way to get work done more efficiently. These standards also remove technical barriers to trade and improve supply chains. Compliance with these standards helps consumers, too. They know products are safe and good for the environment.

The first World Standards Day celebration took place on October 14th, 1970.

"Standard for suitable development goals shared vision for a better world" is the international theme for 2021.
