# The Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD).
The Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) is an annual and inclusive intergovernmental forum and a regional platform for supporting countries, in particular those with special needs, in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The Forum provides a regional perspective on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda by identifying regional trends and consolidating and sharing best practices and lessons learned. The Forum takes into consideration the contributions of United Nations system bodies (at the regional level), other regional and sub regional organizations, and relevant stakeholders. The APFSD also supports follow-up and review of progress on the 2030 Agenda at the regional level.
The theme of the 7th APFSD is “Accelerating action for and delivery of the 2030 Agenda in Asia and the Pacific”. It was held on 20 May 2020 at the United Nations Conference Center (UNCC) in Bangkok, Thailand.
Ms. Samantha K. Jayasuriya, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to ESCAP was elected as the chair.

තිරසාර සංවර්ධනය පිළිබඳ ආසියා පැසිෆික් සංසදය (ඒපීඑෆ්එස්ඩී) යනු වාර්ෂික සහ සියල්ල ඇතුළත් අන්තර් රාජ්‍ය සංසදයක් වන අතර තිරසාර සංවර්ධනය සඳහා 2030 න්‍යාය පත්‍රය ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීමේදී ආධාරක රටවල් සඳහා, විශේෂයෙන් විශේෂ අවශ්‍යතා ඇති අයට කලාපීය වේදිකාවක් වේ.
2030 න්‍යාය පත්‍රය ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීම පිළිබඳ කලාපීය ඉදිරිදර්ශනයක් මෙම සංසදය මඟින් කලාපීය ප්‍රවණතා හඳුනාගෙන, හොඳම භාවිතයන් සහ උගත් පාඩම් තහවුරු කර බෙදාහදා ගනී. සංසදය එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ පද්ධති ආයතන (කලාපීය මට්ටමින්), අනෙකුත් කලාපීය සහ උප කලාපීය සංවිධාන සහ අදාළ පාර්ශවකරුවන්ගේ දායකත්වය සැලකිල්ලට ගනී. ප්‍රාදේශීය මට්ටමින් 2030 න්‍යාය පත්‍රයේ පසු විපරම් හා ප්‍රගතිය සමාලෝචනය කිරීමට ද ඒපීඑෆ්එස්ඩී සහාය දක්වයි.
7 වන ඒපීඑෆ්එස්ඩී හි තේමාව වන්නේ “ආසියාවේ සහ පැසිෆික් කලාපයේ 2030 න්‍යාය පත්‍රය සඳහා කඩිනම් ක්‍රියාමාර්ග සහ බෙදා හැරීම” යන්නයි. එය 2020 මැයි 20 වන දින තායිලන්තයේ බැංකොක්හි එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ සම්මන්ත්‍රණ ශාලාවේදී පැවැත්විණි.
සභාපතිනිය ලෙස ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ අති විශේෂ හා පුර්ණ බලසහිත තානාපති හා නිත්‍ය නියෝජිත සමන්ත කේ. ජයසූරිය මහත්මිය තේරී පත් විය.
