# International Day of UN Peacekeepers - 29 May.

International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers is celebrated every year on 29 May. On this day, the UN commemorates peacekeepers. People also pay tribute to all the women and men who have served as military, police or civilians in UN Peacekeeping programs and operations. Their dedication and courage are commended and the memories of those who have lost their lives in the cause of peace are honoured.

The theme for this year's day is "Women in Peacekeeping: A Key to Peace" to mark the 20th anniversary of the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security.

# එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ සාම සාධක හමුදාවේ ජාත්‍යන්තර දිනය - මැයි 29.

එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ සාම සාධක භටයින්ගේ ජාත්‍යන්තර දිනය සෑම වසරකම මැයි 29 දින සමරනු ලැබේ. මෙම දිනයේදී එක්සත් ජාතීන් සාම සාධක භටයන් සමරයි. එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ සාම සාධක වැඩසටහන් සහ මෙහෙයුම් වලදී හමුදා, පොලීසිය හෝ සිවිල් වැසියන් ලෙස සේවය කර ඇති සියලුම කාන්තාවන්ට සහ පිරිමින්ට ජනතාව උපහාර දක්වයි. ඔවුන්ගේ කැපවීම හා ධෛර්යය පැසසුමට ලක් වන අතර සාමය උදෙසා ජීවිත අහිමි වූවන්ගේ මතකයන් ගෞරවයට පාත්‍ර වේ.

මෙම වසරේ දිනය සඳහා තේමාව වන්නේ “සාම සාධක කාන්තාවන්: සාමයට යතුරක්”යන්නයි.
