# Major General Sanjeewa Munasinghe Appointed New Secretary to Ministry of Health.
Major General Sanjeewa Munasinghe, Director General Army Medical Services, Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps and President of Sri Lanka College of Military Medicine assumed duties as the Secretary to the Ministry of Health and Indigenous Medical Services today (11 May 2020) at the Ministry of Health.

Major General Sanjeewa H. Munasinghe RWP RSP VSV USP, Director General of Army Health Services, Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps (SLAMC) Regiment of the Sri Lanka Army and President of Sri Lanka College of Military Medicine has now been appointed as Secretary to Ministry of Health and Indigenous Medical Services from 11 May 2020.
Major General Munasinghe, a renowned Consultant Radiologist by profession joined the Sri Lanka Army having completed the MBBS degree in 1984 at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ruhuna.
