World Television Day History:
In 1996, the United Nations organized the first World Television Forum on November 21. Influential media personalities gathered to discuss television’s growing significance globally. This led the United Nations General Assembly to declare November 21 as World Television Day each year.
Television was invented by John Logie Baird in 1924, and in India, it was introduced on September 15, 1959, with the help of UNESCO. Initially, programs were broadcast twice a week for an hour a day, focusing on topics like community health, traffic, and citizens’ duties and rights.
