The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has joined the East African Community (EAC) becoming its 7th Partner State.
The Summit of EAC Heads of State at their 19th Ordinary Summit held on Tuesday, 29th March, 2022 admitted DRC following recommendation by the Council of Ministers.
Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda are the other member nations.
The DRC is the largest and most populous country to join the EAC.
The East African Community (EAC) is a regional intergovernmental organisation founded in 1967.
