Pat Cummins has been named the next Test cricket captain of Australia after wicketkeeper Tim Paine stepped down in the wake of a sexting scandal.
Cummins was unveiled as the 47th Australian men's Test captain afternoon, becoming the first bowling skipper the nation has seen in almost 60 years.
The 28-year-old will lead Australia through the Ashes, which begins at The Gabba in Brisbane on December 8, alongside newly appointed vice captain Steve Smith.
