President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on Friday 24th December 2021, swore in Vikum Kaluarachchi as a new Judge of the Court of Appeal (CA).
He will fill the vacancy created by the recent retirement of CA Justice Devika Abeyratne.
A past pupil of Royal College, Colombo, Justice Vikum Athula Kaluarachchi graduated from the Sri Lanka Law College.
His legal career spans 33 years, 27 of which was spent as a judicial officer, serving as Magistrate, District Judge, High Court Judge and a Judge of the High Court of Civil Appeal. Justice Kaluarachchi was also the senior-most High Court Judge in the country, the President’s Media Division (PMD) said.
