# Crown prince Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Sabah becomes new ruling emir.
Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Sabah became the oil-rich nation’s new ruling emir on Tuesday 29 October 2020 night, reaching the highest post in the country after decades in its security services.
On 30 September 2020, he succeeded to the throne following the death of his half-brother, Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Nawaf had been nominated as Crown Prince on 07 February 2006. Born on June 25, 1937, Sheikh Nawaf became a governor of Kuwait’s Hawalli region and later the country’s interior minister, a position he held for nearly a decade.

ඔහුගේ අර්ධ සහෝදරයා වන සබා අල් අහමඩ් අල්-ජාබර් අල්-සබාගේ මරණයෙන් පසු 2020 සැප්තැම්බර් 30 වන දින ඔහු සිංහාසනයට පත්විය. නවාෆ් 2006 පෙබරවාරි 7 වන දින ඔටුන්න හිමි කුමරු ලෙස නම් කර තිබුණි. 1937 ජුනි 25 වන දින උපත ලද ෂෙයික් නවාෆ් කුවේටයේ හවාලි කලාපයේ ආණ්ඩුකාරයා බවට පත් වූ අතර පසුව රටේ අභ්‍යන්තර කටයුතු අමාත්‍යවරයා ලෙස දශකයකට ආසන්න කාලයක් ඔහු දැරීය.
