# Children's Day in Sri Lanka - 01 October.

Children's Day is an event celebrated on various days in many places around the world. International Children's Day is celebrated on June 1 and Universal Children's Day is on November 20 and in Sri Lanka, it is commemorated on the 1st of October each year. 

Sri Lanka celebrates Children's Day annually on October 1. Celebration of this holiday raises public awareness about rights of children.

The UN General Assembly adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child on November 20, 1989 and it entered into force on September 2, 1990. Sri Lanka, as well as other member states signed the Convention, that laid foundation for creation of Children's Day in this country. However, the choice of the date, when the holiday is celebrated, is not clear. But at the same time this holiday is very important for people of Sri Lanka. Children are the key to prosperity and better future of the nation and the country. Taking care of children helps the state to raise its economy to new level.

# ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ළමා දිනය - ඔක්තෝබර් 01.

ළමා දිනය යනු ලොව පුරා බොහෝ ස්ථානවල විවිධ දිනවල සමරනු ලබන උත්සවයකි. ජාත්‍යන්තර ළමා දිනය ජුනි 1 වනදාත්, විශ්ව ළමා දිනය නොවැම්බර් 20 වන දිනටත්, ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ සෑම වසරකම ඔක්තෝබර් 1 වන දිනත් සමරනු ලැබේ.

ශ්‍රී ලංකාව වාර්ෂිකව ඔක්තෝබර් 1 වන දින ළමා දිනය සමරයි. මෙම නිවාඩු දිනය සැමරීමෙන් දරුවන්ගේ අයිතිවාසිකම් පිළිබඳ මහජනතාව දැනුවත් කරයි.

ළමා අයිතිවාසිකම් පිළිබඳ සම්මුතිය 1989 නොවැම්බර් 20 වන දින එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ මහා මණ්ඩලය විසින් සම්මත කරන ලද අතර එය 1990 සැප්තැම්බර් 2 දින සිට බලාත්මක විය. ශ්‍රී ලංකාව මෙන්ම අනෙකුත් සාමාජික රටවල් ද මෙම සමුළුවට අත්සන් තැබූ අතර එය ළමා දිනය නිර්මාණය කිරීම සඳහා අඩිතාලම දැමීය. කෙසේ වෙතත්, නිවාඩු දිනය සමරනු ලබන දිනය තෝරා ගැනීම පැහැදිලි නැත. නමුත් ඒ සමඟම මෙම නිවාඩු දිනය ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ජනතාවට ඉතා වැදගත් වේ. ජාතියේ සහ රටේ සමෘද්ධිය සහ යහපත් අනාගතය සඳහා ළමයින් යතුරයි. ළමයින් රැකබලා ගැනීම රාජ්‍යයේ ආර්ථිකය නව තලයකට ඔසවා තැබීමට උපකාරී වේ.
