Sri Lanka to host 2023 Asian Women Parliamentarian Caucus annual meeting

Arrangements have been made to hold the Asian Women Parliamentarian Caucus Annual Meeting 2023 in Colombo this year, the Communications Department of Parliament says.

This year, the theme of the Asian Women Parliamentarian Caucus is “Inclusivity & Diversity in Gender Equality in Parliaments in Asia”.

Accordingly, the meeting and the related program will take place from October 09 to 11.

Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena, Speaker of Parliament; Dr. Sudarshini Fernandopulle, Chair of the Women Parliamentarians’ Caucus; Kushani Rohanadeera, Secretary General of Parliament and delegates of the Asian Women Parliamentarian Caucus, government officials of several foreign countries will be participating in the event scheduled for October 09 at 10.00 a.m.

In this series of programs, the Asian Women Parliamentarian Caucus is scheduled to hold discussions with the Election Commission, government institutions, non-governmental organizations and members of civil organizations, while joining several observation tours.

The Women Parliamentarians’ Caucus has organized this year’s annual meeting together with the Asian Women Parliamentarian Caucus.
