World Hypertension Day is observed every May 17th in order to raise awareness and promote hypertension prevention, detection and control. High blood pressure is the main risk factor to develop cardiovascular disease.

History of World Hypertension Day 2023: 

World Hypertension Day is an annual event that is held on May 17th to raise awareness about hypertension, also known as high blood pressure. The day was first established in 2005 by the World Hypertension League (WHL), an international organization that is dedicated to the prevention and control of hypertension.
