World Numbat Day is on the first Saturday of November. Accordingly in 2021 the day was 06 November 2021. It is a day to appreciate this amazing yet threatened mammal and encourage the action to conserve the species.
The Numbat is Western Australia’s mammal emblem. They are a small endangered native marsupial. They have a long sticky tongue that allows them pick up there favourite food; termites.
Scientific name: Myrmecobius fasciatus
Project Numbat held the first World Numbat Day on November 7th, 2015. It has been held on the first Saturday in November ever since.
