Google vice-president Caesar Sengupta steps down.

Veteran Google executive Caesar Sengupta, who led the internet giant's efforts in digital payments and building products for the next generation of users in emerging markets including India, is leaving the firm. His last day is April 30.

Sengupta joined Google in 2005 and most recently worked as Vice President and General Manager, Payments and Next Billion Users initiative at Google.

Sengupta had spearheaded the launch of Google Pay (then Google Tez) in 2015, which has emerged as the second most used Unified Payments Interface app in the country after Walmart-backed PhonePe. Earlier this month, the app also updated its India policy to give Google Pay users increased control over their transaction data.
