Superstar footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has reached 250 million followers on Instagram and making him the first person ever to reach that milestone. Ronaldo is followed by pop star Ariana Grande (214 million followers) and Hollywood actor and wrestling icon Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson (209 million) who are ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively in terms of followers on Instagram.
At 35, Ronaldo is also the most followed person on the Facebook-owned platform. One of the greatest footballers to have played the game, Ronaldo continues to rule social media - where is also the most followed person on Facebook and the most followed sportsperson on Twitter.
With 174 million followers, Lionel Messi, the Argentine superstar and Ronaldo’s biggest rival, is ranked 2nd among sportspersons with maximum Instagram followers. The only account which has more followers than Ronaldo on Instagram is Instagram’s official account, comprising 382 million followers.
