Joe Biden on named Samantha Power, the former US ambassador to the United Nations, as his choice to lead the US Agency for International Development (USAid).
Samantha Power was US ambassador to the United Nations in the Obama-Biden administration and also served on Barack Obama’s national security council, as well as being a foreign policy and human rights adviser to the former Democratic president Barack Obama.
Biden will also elevate the position of administrator of the United States Agency for International Development to a member of the National Security Council in his administration.
