The BCCI has communicated to its member associations that this year's T20 World Cup will be held in the UAE.
However, BCCI retain the hosting rights of the 16-team event that is scheduled to begin on October 17, two days after the completion of the IPL final, also in the UAE.
BCCI President Sourav Ganguly stated that the decision had been taken "after several rounds of discussions internally.
The ICC expected to make an official announcement in due course.
